An Idea for a Children’s Party – Pajama Party

This idea of holidays and birthdays is very popular in other countries, the idea originated in America and is rapidly spreading in Europe.

A pajama party is an idea for a children’s party. We want to share with you some impressions and useful tips on how you can organize such a birthday or any other celebration at home, for your children, your family and yourself. Greta still says it was one of her most memorable birthdays.

Tip No. 1 – decide how many participants there will be and where you will set up the tents and all the decorations

We organized this entertainment for our daughter’s closest friends, the parents politely let the children have a large terrace. We were also lucky because here in Tenerife the temperature does not drop below 20 degrees in the evening. Any other larger space in the home, with as little furniture and extraneous items as possible, will do just fine. The optimal number for such a birthday party is 6-8 participants.

Tip no. 2 – The theme of the party

Decorations and dress code will depend on the theme. We went with a unicorn theme and prepared military camo tents for the boys so they could blend into the girls’ party without being noticed. The variety of topics depends on what the service provider offers.

Tip no. 3 – the very essence – party decorations

Advice abounds online. Both Pinterest and Google search will open up a treasure chest of tips and ideas. I’ll let you in on a secret that you have to enter “tipi”, “tents for kids” in the search.

So what you need for such a party:

  • Mattresses – inflatable singles or beach mattresses can be used and guests can bring their own. It will also work perfectly these are from the IKEA store
  • A tent, a canopy or as it is commonly called a tipi. You can find many tips on how to make it, how to sew the cover you want on Pinterest and by clicking this link too.
  • Tables – I recommend plastic ones, they are inexpensive and easy to clean, e.g. these IKEA pallets.
  • Garlands of lights, flags, feathers, dream catchers and other decorations to create magic. You will certainly find lights from the Christmas tree and buy other decorations.
  • Lanterns will fit perfectly. These are from IKEA. Use candles with batteries for safety.
  • Other essential party attributes are blankets, decorative cushions, soft toys. According to the theme, you can buy them anywhere – in a children’s toy store, Ikea, Senukai or the like. We buy various decorations, themed disposable dishes, balloons in the online store. You can make a significant part of the decorations yourself – this way you will also create the mood of anticipation for the holiday.

Tip no. 4 – cake according to the theme of your party

Order, choose a flavor, decorations. You can already find someone who makes delicious cakes without large amounts of sugar and inedible sugar decorations. Or maybe you will make and decorate it yourself.

Tip no. 5 – activities during the holiday

It depends on how active the children themselves are in figuring out what to do, but anything that can occupy them will be useful – musical background, board games, jewelry making tools, beauty treatments for older girls, computer games for boys, etc.
