This weekend we decided to visit Kaunas and one of its swimming pools. So the question immediately arose, which is the best swimming pool with children in Kaunas. After reading the reviews, we decided that we should go to visit the Girstutis basin.

As a child, I had to spend a lot of time in Kaunas, because my grandparents lived there, so I remember the Girstutis pool very well. But now it’s completely renewed and unrecognizable. Therefore, this weekend we wanted to make sure if Girstutis is the best swimming pool with children in Kaunas.

Today, the Girstutis swimming pool can be proud of being one of the largest and most modern sports complexes in Lithuania. There are even 3 swimming pools in the pool area: 50 m, 25 m and recreational, a slide and 4 whirlpools.

Although not very relevant for children, there are Turkish, aromatherapy, infrared and hot dry air baths for parents. Massage rooms are also available here.

When we choose a swimming pool for visiting with children, and especially with a baby, it is very important that both the swimming pool and its infrastructure are suitable for visiting with children.

First of all, common changing rooms – it is very important that you don’t have to go to different changing rooms. We also really liked that there is a separate shower for the family in the common dressing room. It is closed to the family, where only your family can shower. Very convenient and practical with small children. If such a shower had not existed, it would have been difficult for me personally to take a shower by myself and to wash two-month-old Paula alone without the help of my husband.

It is also a big plus that there is a playpen in the changing room, which is useful if you have a crawling or walking toddler. Also a changing table for babies and a high chair. It seems like such small things, but they really make it easier for parents with children to visit the pool. Especially if you are visiting alone with a child.

I really liked that there is also a juice and healthy cocktail cafe in the pool. It’s great with children. It is very convenient that you can pay after the visit, you don’t need to carry cash with you.

Perhaps the biggest advantage of this pool is the water slide. For five-year-old Matthew, it was a total hit in this pool. Because of this slide, Motiejus would definitely say that Girstutis is the best pool with children in Kaunas. It’s great that children can not only swim, bathe, but also go for a ride. And most importantly, you don’t need to go to the water park in Druskininkai.

It’s great that there is also a swimming pool for the smallest visitors. Check out the pool before your visit through your Facebook account, sometimes on Sundays there is an obstacle course here, ie trampolines on water. We love water trampolines in the summer and they are often found near lakes, but it turns out that they can also be fun in the winter. I never thought we’d find them in a pool. By the way, their use is already included in the price of the pool.

The price of pool tickets is really friendly, especially that you can take advantage of the family offer 2+1 or 2+2. For us as a family, a weekend visit with one child cost 34 euros. The ticket was free for the baby. In my opinion, the price is really friendly considering that there is a slide, saunas, whirlpools plus we were lucky and there were also water trampolines. All prices can be found on the pool’s website.

You can choose either 2.5 or 4 hours for your visit.

Can we recommend it? Bravely. Our rating is 9/10. Why not 10/10? Because I might have been cool in the pool, but I’m a heat lover and I find all pools cool. My husband and five-year-old Motiejs rate it 10/10. In our opinion, Girtutis is the best swimming pool with children in Kaunas.
