The Capital Las Palmas and old town Vegueta

The streets and squares of the capital are lined with historic buildings such as the Casa de Colon mansion, the Santa Ana cathedral, the Museo Canario, the Gabinete Literario club, the Casas Consistoriales and the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno gallery. The area around the market, built in 1856, is full of shops. The historic old town, full of culture and beautiful corners.

Terror

Located in the north of Gran Canaria, Teror is one of the oldest cities in the Canary Islands. Declared a city of pilgrimage in the late 15th century, Teror boasts a rich religious heritage, including a church, monasteries and the original homes of local noble families. Terror pastry makers and bakers are famous for their sweet treats in Gran Canaria. Terror is buzzing on Sunday mornings thanks to the street market in the main square, which sells a variety of local produce, jewelry and wooden and textile products, as well as typical products such as the popular spreadable chorizo ​​sausage.

Firg

A small town located in the north of Gran Canaria. Its history has long been associated with water, and today an artificial waterfall flows down the stairs in the center of the old town. The beautiful old town is a great place to stroll. In the center of the old town is the church of San Roque and the square. The Firgas watermill, the oldest still in use in the Canary Islands, has been renovated and is open to visitors. Tiled benches, depiction of islands – definitely a must.

Arucas

Agaete

The Agaete Valley in northwestern Gran Canaria is one of the most beautiful places on the island. In a town lined with white houses, many fish restaurants. One of our favourites, with stunning harbor views is the Marisqueria Ragu.

Tejeda

The town is not very big, you can walk there in practically 20 minutes. You can visit the Nuestra Señora del Socorro Church, located next to the Tejeda Town Hall, as well as the various streets and pedestrian alleys. The village of Tejeda has a lot of almonds. This city hosts an almond blossom festival in February. Enjoy the surroundings and spectacular views or visit the Roque Nublo rock. As you leave the town towards Roque Bentayga, you will find a traditional giant basket, ideal for taking pictures.

Puerto de Mogan

Also called the Venice of Gran Canaria. This beautiful, welcoming fishing village in southern Gran Canaria still retains its local feel. Its impressive architecture contrasts with flower gardens and canals connected by bridges.

Agüimes, located southeast of the capital of Gran Canaria. It was founded as a city of the episcopal estate by order of the Catholic monarchs.

The old town of Agüimes has several metal sculptures, such as the famous camel sculpture, as well as pedestrian streets for a pleasant stroll. The Church of San Sebastian and the main square of the village are also must-sees.

A windsurfing spot with year-round wind. In the southeast of Gran Canaria, near Vecindario, there is Pozo Izquierdo, where the wind and waves are very constant, so you can sail here all year round. Although it requires a high level, this place is internationally known for being part of the PWA (Professional Windsurfers Association) World Circuit.

Pozo Izquierdo has many services, surf camps and shops specializing in windsurfing, as well as the International Windsurfing Center.

Cenobio de Valerón

These are aboriginal granaries located on the high slope of the Montaña del Gallego. It was built by the ancient inhabitants of the Canaries more than 800 years ago, taking full advantage of the geological conditions of the volcanic cone. With the help of flint stones, they excavated over 350 cavities arranged in several levels, where grains and other foodstuffs were stored. True, it costs 3 euros to visit here.

Maspalomas Dunes

White sand dunes. Visiting the dunes is possible, but follow the signs and information panels. The conservation plan was never intended to prohibit access to the dunes, but simply to guide people along marked paths and tracks that will be compatible with environmental protection and respect.
