The best viewpoints in Vilnius

The best viewpoints in Vilnius is your guide to the best panoramas in Vilnius. We are very fond of lookout points, towers, outcrops, so all these places have been visited by us with our children. Use our list to take your children on a tour of Vilnius.

The best viewpoints in Vilnius

The best viewpoints in Vilnius are scattered all over the city. Some of them are outdoors and some are under cover, so you can visit in any weather. Most of them are free, but others require a fee.

Our recommended places in Vilnius to see the most beautiful panoramas

Pavilniai Regional Park viewpoint

A place known to few people. Very nicely landscaped, with a small children’s playground and a basketball court, benches, gazebos, a grill area and a very beautiful panorama of Vilnius. Although the space is small, it has well-maintained paths and is also suitable for a walk with a baby stroller.

Rokantiskes hillfort viewpoint

I would say the best place to watch trains in Vilnius with a great view. You can also see the surroundings of Naujoji Vilnia. Nearby is our favourite Strielciukai nature trail.

Subacius viewpoint

Our very favourite place. In the summer there’s dancing, a café with amazing ice cream and coffee. And the view of Vilnius Old Town is simply stunning.

Puckoriai viewpoint (the highest in Lithuania)

Impressive both from above and below. It is not very convenient to visit from the top with a stroller, as the steps are quite steep. At the bottom is the Belmont Nature Trail, which is a good way to see the viewpoint from above. The trail is suitable for strollers.

Lazdynai edge or Plikakalnis viewpoint (second highest in Lithuania)

It offers a wonderful panorama of Vingis Park and the Neris River. It is a fun walk through the small forest with children. There are also several walking trails nearby (the Forest Edge Trail and the Plikakalnis Trail).

Verkiai Manor Park observation deck

A very nice place for a walk, and a great panorama of Vilnius with a particularly beautiful view of Valakampiai and Trinapolis Church.

Gariunai viewpoint

A little-known place in Vilnius, but definitely worth a visit. It offers a great panorama of the Vilnius TV Tower and residential areas. Very quiet. Often you’ll just be on your own here, as there are very few visitors.

Balsio viewpoint

This is a great view of the Green Lakes. A perfect place to reminisce about fun summer swims.

Vilnius TV Tower observation deck (paid)

The highest observation deck in Lithuania. Although there is a fee, we love it. The whole of Vilnius and its surroundings are in the palm of your hand. It is important to go only in good weather. The views are very different in different seasons.

Gediminas Castle Tower

Probably one of the most visited tourist sites in Lithuania. It offers stunning views of Vilnius. The climb up the hill is difficult, but the view makes up for it. You need to buy a ticket to get to the tower itself.

St. St. John’s Church tower (paid)

The tallest building in Vilnius Old Town that you can climb. Once up, you’ll have a wonderful panorama of Castle Street and the Old Town. You have to climb 193 wooden steps to get to the top. If you are with children, there is an elevator.

Skybar terrace of Radisson blu hotel Lithuania

Probably the tallest hotel in Vilnius with a great panoramic view from the 22nd floor of Radisson Blu Hotel Lithuania. We really like it, because abroad skyscrapers have a lot of cafes and restaurants, but unfortunately there are not many in Lithuania. It’s great to visit with the whole family. It’s fun to visit both in the daylight and in the dark.

Vilnius Cathedral Bell Tower (paid)

Another great place in Vilnius that you should definitely visit at least once in your life. For us, the most fun is during the festive season, when Cathedral Square is festively decorated.

Three Crosses Hill Lookout point

There are a number of steps to climb, and you can access it from two sides. However, once you get up the hill, you get a great panorama of Vilnius, which really varies from season to season. Difficult with younger children – but manageable.

Taurakalnis viewpoint

This place is a great favourite with our family in all seasons. We come here for walks, and in winter it is the best place in the city centre for winter activities, because the ice-skating hill is amazing. You can also have a fun picnic on the lawn or in the car, as the view from the hill is just great. The place is currently undergoing reconstruction, so it is not very suitable for visitors. But after the reconstruction, it will be an even better place for family fun.
