Free festive events for the family in cities in Tenerife

Santa Cruz – the capital of Tenerife

Santa Cruz has prepared a Christmas and Epiphany program with more than 200 events taking place throughout the municipality until January 6. Various municipal territories and five districts of the capital participate in the program.

Events

Events organized by the city municipality are mostly free, will take place in five districts of the capital and are intended for people of all ages. The calendar of planned events includes concerts for families, musical recitals and performances, theater productions and art exhibitions, as well as storytelling and workshops for children. During the upcoming Christmas festivities, the streets of Santa Cruz will also be enlivened by folklore and music groups performing Christmas carols.

The program includes various events, such as the traditional concerts of Los Fregolinos and the military orchestra in Príncipe Square.

Guests and townspeople will be waiting for the Christmas fair, the live prelude in Candelaria Square, the big New Year’s party or the meeting of the Three Wise Men and the parade that follows.

Among the innovations of the Christmas program, the traditional Christmas prequel, which will open on December 12, should be singled out. In Candelaria square, which will be bigger than previous years, the lighting will be spectacular.

Another new event is the Children’s New Year’s Eve, which will take place on December 31. Plaza de La Candelaria from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and during which various activities for the little ones will be organized.

This year, the Alameda del Duque de Santa Elena Christmas market will open its doors again, where you can buy handmade and Christmas products. It will work from December 15 until January 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. From December 16 until January 6 gastronomy and music will come together in the Gastro Navidad Market Fest.

From December 23 until January 4 Casa del Carnaval will continue the Christmas events, during which various activities will be organized for the smallest members of the family: craft workshops, a visit from Santa Claus.

2023-2024 The Christmas and Epiphany program can be followed and all information can be found on the city municipality’s social media profile, as well as on the website.

La Laguna – the old capital of Tenerife

The La Laguna city lights display consists of about 2,800 Christmas motifs, all of them with the latest LED technology. Giant stars, prequels, dwarfs, camels and spectacular illuminated wings in the Adelantado square.

The Christmas program “La Laguna, donde brilla la magia” (“La Laguna, where the magic shines”) will last until January 6.

Enjoy free entertainment – the ice rink in La Laguna from December 1 till 10.

Candelaria and the most beautiful Prekartelė of the island

Candelaria this year is particularly festive and suitable for the whole family’s celebrations.

On December 21 and 22, you will be able to meet Santa Claus, and on the evening of December 31, a New Year’s party will await you.

Adeje – Tenerife south

As always, Adeje will offer many events for those who live and vacation here. There will be prequels, Santa Claus and, of course, the procession of the Three Kings.

Arona – South of Tenerife

In total, almost 1,650 Christmas decorations have been installed in the municipality’s public spaces in 28 towns: street lighting, preludes, angels and other festive decorations. In addition, four large Christmas tree structures were erected in Las Galletas and El Fraile.

On Thursday, December 14, the Arona Choreographic Groups Christmas Festival will take place. On Saturday, December 16, the traditional Posadas Navideñas will be held in Las Galletas. And on the 29th, a children’s New Year’s party will be held in Las Galletas.

The big New Year party will take place simultaneously in the towns of Los Cristianos, Valle San Lorenzo and Las Galletas. And of course, the culmination of the holidays is the Three Kings Parade.

Granadilla de Abona and El Medano

There will be various events and activities for children and families throughout the month. Full program.

On December 31, everyone is invited to El Medano’s New Year’s Eve concert.

Santiago del Teide and Los Gigantes

LEGO prequel (prakartelė) in Santa Cruz

Fundación Caja in Canarias is pleased to present its traditional prequel, this time made mostly of LEGO DiscoverBricks pieces.

The title of this year’s prequel is “A Galactic Adventure”, more than twenty Lego constructors recreated the iconic scenery of the most famous galactic saga of all time from almost two hundred and fifty thousand pieces.

This LEGO prequel is open to the public: from 2023 December 1 until 2024 January 5

Festive events and activities for the family in Shopping Centers in Tenerife

Large shopping centers also dress up for the holidays and invite you to mostly free entertainment. Here you can meet Santa Claus, take a ride on the Christmas train, and maybe even take part in a festive concert.
