The longest skating rink in Lithuania

You can find the longest outdoor skating rink in Lithuania by walking along the path along Lake Pastovelis in Molėtai. It is a wonderful entertainment not only for children but also for adults. Nearby you will also find a children’s playground with various attractions: trampoline, “tarzanke”, table tennis, etc. For adults there are sunbeds on the shore of the lake. Alytus Youth Park playground

The playground of the Alytus Youth Park is probably one of the most modern in Lithuania.

In the youth park there are also chess, sports, roller-skating, exercise equipment, parkour grounds, marked bicycle paths, a skateboard park and two pump tracks. One track is intended for children and beginners, and the other is the largest bicycle roller coaster track in Lithuania, which is also perfect for one-on-one races.

A house on a chicken leg

Near Merkina, at the junction to the Alytus side, you can see a house on a hen’s leg on a hill. This is not a museum or a children’s playground as it may appear to many. This is the rest-on-duty place of the Merkina fire brigade while looking after the forests of Dzūkija. There is a gazebo and an outdoor toilet next to the cabin, making it an ideal place for a stopover. The Merkina mound and the Merkina observation tower are also nearby.

The only floating seesaw in Lithuania on Lake Dusia

You will find the only floating swing in Lithuania in Dusios Lake, near the Meteliai Regional Park Visitor Center. We guarantee that you haven’t been in such a situation yet.

Bunny Museum

Bunny Museum In the Bunny Museum of the Sasnava community, you can see about 800 different bunnies, the smallest – just 1 cm., the largest – 1 m. A lot of interesting things can be learned about the history of the origin of the name of the town of Sasnava.In the museumthere are fun educational activities that are adapted to different age groups. Here you can take photos in the bunny photo studio, make gingerbread bunnies in the kitchen, make a “sleeping bunny” or other crafts, a toy with bunnies, dance, exercise, create a fairy tale in the craft room.

Alytus Local History Museum

Almost 100 thousand are stored in the Alytus Local History Museum. exhibits are historical, ethnographic and archaeological material that entered the museum’s funds from all regions of Southern Lithuania. Modern and interactive expositions creatively tell the history of the region. You can download an e-card from the museum as a souvenir. Educational activities for students and adults take place here. The interactive ethnographic exposition “Sodzius Dzūkijon” awaits visitors. Here you will find a piece of Dzūkija, where the Dzūki dialect, songs and fairy tales are heard, where the sounds and sights of the village soothe and awaken childhood memories.

Bear Museum

This museum, located in the Žemaitija Tourism Information Center, is a unique place in Lithuania, where over 3,000 bears and teddy bears of various materials, sizes and shapes are collected. Many of the bears living here have their own unique stories, which were passed down by their owners after they were brought here. The idea of ​​a museum inseparable from the history of the Telšia region, which says that the Bear is a symbol of the people of Žemaia. When visiting here, not only the little ones will be happy with the abundance of teddy bears, but also the adults will feel nostalgic while looking at the exhibits dating back several decades.

Bison Place in Dzūkija National Park

Dzūkija National Park invites you to the bison, located between Marcinkoniai and Zervynai. In the new trunk 10 bisons already live there, including several cubs born here. In it, visitors can observe Europe’s largest animals in an exhibition enclosure from the observation deck.

The forest museum “Girios aidas” is located in a house of original architecture, surrounded by a forest. In the museum you can see stuffed animals and birds of Lithuania, works of folk artists. Wooden sculptures, roof pillars, benches and other decorative wood carvings are exhibited on the forest walking path around the museum, the authors of which are well-known national artists A. Česnulis, S. Vaida, A. Lastauskas, A. Raugala, J. Videika and others.
