Activities with babies in Lithuania

When you have older children, they can take part in almost all fun family activities. But you can’t take the little ones to the cinema, to play volleyball or to a water park. So, what are the activities to do with babies in Lithuania?

Activities with babies in Lithuania – a list for your fun time.

Silk bean (Vilnius)

Silk bean Early Childhood Education Studio invites you to the following activities for parents with their children. Theatre for babies (5-12 months) and Theatre for toddlers (12-24 months).

Kristina Savickyte, actress, mother and children’s book author, invites very young children and parents to be joyfully together in her programme for very young children. For toddlers to explore and safely socialise with their peers. For dads and mothers, to discover creative ways to connect with their children, to expand their repertoire of fingerplays, children’s poems and songs, and stories.

Feel and experience how the objects around us become characters or instruments of reincarnation. Experience a sense of communion with dads and mums who breathe the same breath. To become more aware of what is happening with their child and to fill their daily routine with small but meaningful rituals that help them to talk, calm down, travel, wait or just get through the day. And most importantly, to realise that both parents and children can and do create. All they need to do is to believe in themselves more, enjoy the process and being together. After all, the ultimate goal is to connect through joy, wonder and fun.

The programme was created and is hosted by Kristina Savickyte. She is a mother of three, actress, author of children’s books “Kuriame pasaką”(We Create a Fairy Tale) and “Kaip Tilis džiaugsmo ieškojo” (How Tilis Searched for Joy), creator of theatre educations, radio presenter.

Baby Spa (Kaunas)

The medical centre for babies and pregnant women in Kaunas offers a warm path to harmony and health. Parents and babies alike feel comfortable in the pool area, with qualified physiotherapists always on hand. The spa offers group and individual baby swims, individual exercises and massages.

There are also individual sessions in the family pool, individual floating, yoga, meditation and water breathing sessions.

The Baby Spa pool environment is designed for babies, parents and parents-to-be. For your convenience, there are baby development tables, soft cots for changing, toys, pool equipment adapted for exercise and floating.

Natural feeding, soothing music and tea are available for parents. Only with the help of a professional physiotherapist, newborns, babies, children and pregnant women can swim in the pool. Here, the water level is up to an adult’s chest, so you don’t have to bend over backwards like in a paddling pool. The pool water temperature is extremely comfortable at +34 C, the air temperature is +29 to 32 C.

The modern pool, equipped with the latest overflow system and underwater massage jets, is the first of its kind in Kaunas for toddlers. The pool and water are kept clean to the highest hygiene standards. The water is cleaned 24 hours a day, and there is automatic dosing and ultraviolet irradiation equipment. Professional physiotherapists are always on hand to supervise the staff. So mums and their little ones can feel really safe here.

Marmaluzi Bistro (Vilnius)

Baby café, restaurant, canteen? The phrase is MARMALUZI BISTRO FOR KIDS! The prehistory is based on the real life of a mother of three children. You go out with one child to the city to explore the sidewalks of the old town, to move around and show your child the city. It’s fun until it’s time for the baby to eat, and carrying little bags and thermoses gets boring, and returning home again is not the best and fastest solution.

And then you have two kids who want to eat, you look for the kids’ menu in the cafes, and there’s just fries and sausages. Third child, thermoses take up most of the mother’s bag and that thought – why is there no baby feeding place? Vilnius is our capital city, there are places for older children, there are places for teenagers, there are plenty of places for adults, but for BABIES?

What makes Marmaluzi special?

I am very happy that the company’s managers, when setting up the store, kindly accepted my idea of a baby café. Here babies, as equal little citizens, could enjoy with their parents a meal of quality, tailored and warm food according to their age, desires, needs and capabilities.

Marmaluzi BISTRO is open to all babies, toddlers and little guests of Vilnius. They will be served, like in a restaurant for the eager ones, with a quality, warm and tailor-made meal. Marmaluzi BISTRO’s menu, will not only suit the baby, but also the parents. Moms and dads will have the opportunity to enjoy birch sap, tea or coffee while their child or children have breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Not sure what to choose from the menu? No problem, you can choose the meal you want from the shelves of products. The food will be served in children’s bowls, the kids will be seated in their own highchairs and the service is nothing like a restaurant. You’ll always be accompanied by a smile and friendly service.

Will there be snacks while you wait for your food? YES, of course, we treat every one of our little customers to a Marmaluzi crisp snack. Parents, let the kids enjoy this new concept of the place. We love children, so they are always welcome in our Marmaluzi Children’s Food Studio!

Baby SPA VILNIUS (Vilnius)

Baby SPA Vilnius is an oasis of peace for babies and their parents. In this modern and contemporary spa, we aim to create an environment that is filled with pleasant experiences for the whole family. That is why we offer professional physiotherapy consultations, unique hydrotherapy sessions, baby massage and exercise sessions for babies together with their parents.

The benefits of hydrotherapy, massage and exercise treatments for babies have been proven in numerous scientific studies. Movement during both exercise and hydrotherapy sessions contributes to a baby’s physical and mental development, while the targeted touches during massage create a sense of trust and security.

The centre is staffed by highly qualified and experienced paediatric physiotherapists. Each of them offers helpful advice based on the individual needs of the child and the expectations of the parents. It helps parents to get to know their little one better and to develop a deeper bond with him/her.

The centre itself is very modern, beautifully furnished and very cosy. We highly recommend a visit.

Dansema Dance Theatre (Vilnius)

“Dansema” is the first dance theatre in Lithuania that started creating contemporary dance performances for children in 2007. The theatre’s performances are special because their creators respect the age of the children’s audience. They create performances in such a way as to stimulate the creativity and imagination of the little ones and to give them the first experience of movement and dance. “Dansema’s” performances are sensory-friendly, making them suitable for children with various disabilities, impairments and sensitivities.

“Dansema” performances for babies

AN UNSEEN WORLD

Details make a whole, contrasts create dynamics, movements lead to dance. This interactive performance is full of a variety of movements, colours and surfaces that awaken the senses of the little ones. It help developing their ability to notice details, to make a whole out of details and to react creatively to the ideas proposed by the dancers. The performance invites children to become active participants in the action and leaves them free to decide when and how they would like to join in the action. For babies 6-18 months.

FOREST

The forest is a mysterious place, full of unexpected encounters with familiar and unfamiliar plants or forest inhabitants, which can transform into strange creatures in the flickering light of the leaves, inviting little ones to new adventures and discoveries. It is an interactive performance that invites the youngest audience members to join in the action as they wish. For babies aged 6-18 months.

SOUTH

A mysterious, colourful and soft meadow, where the little audience members join the dancer in a quest for adventure and treasure. Experiencing the joy of discovery and communication, sharing their impressions and moods. The performance-installation format allows children to explore the dance and the environment, without limiting the time needed for the little ones to get involved in the action. Designed for babies aged 6-18 months.

COLOURFUL GAMES

The performance is full of unexpected, colourful objects. That encourages the young audience members to explore and discover new things about themselves and their environment with the dancer. The performance was awarded the Golden Stage Cross for the best children’s performance of 2015. For children aged 6-36 months.

MOSAIC

What does a young child’s world look like? Is it round yellow or angular blue? Or is it oblong green, hollow but soft? The creators of the performance arrange various geometric shapes and colours like a mosaic, turning them into vegetables that children recognise – a carrot, a tomato, a cucumber, and sometimes into unrecognisable mushrooms, fruits and flowers. Performance for children aged 0-3 years.
