This year, Vietnam was chosen as the main country. But since Vietnam only gives a 1-month visa, the family plans to visit Malaysia in 3 months. And he shares his impressions of Singapore with us.

Practical tips for traveling to Singapore with children

The family spent 4 days on the trip to Singapore. Flying from Hanoi to Singapore, they immediately bought a SIM card at the airport (buy a SIM card in advance here) and public transport tickets. Rima says that maybe she made a mistake with the transport cards, because as far as I had to look, there are tourist cards for 3 days with an unlimited number of trips, which would cost about 17 euros.

The family used the subway, which is very, very convenient, the bus was not even needed. Everything is accessible by subway and on foot. A metro trip costs 0.7-1.7 euros.

One of the reasons why a family spent only 4 days on a trip to Singapore with a child is the relatively high prices compared to Vietnam. Rima says that she lived in a hotel near China town. A small room with a shower and a window to the wall cost about 350 euros for 4 days. So I really recommend staying near China town, because there are a lot of food courts where you can eat really cheap. So basically the family ate either in fast food cafes or in the aforementioned food court.

Food prices are a bit higher than in Lithuania. You can find everything in the shops. Since people from all cultures live in Singapore, the choice is wide.

“It’s a big plus that everything is in English everywhere. So my husband and I laugh, Singapore is the London of Asia,” says Rima.

A trip to Singapore with a child – a detailed plan

The first day in Singapore started with the nature park Garden by the Bay. It is probably the most popular tourist attraction in Singapore. “Very nice, activities for the whole day. Water entertainment for children, playgrounds,” says Rima and advises that you need to take a towel and change of clothes when driving here. We recommend buying tickets in advance.

On the second day, the family went to Haw Par Villa, where there are many beautiful and interesting colorful sculptures, then to the Singapore History Museum and Admiralty park. This park has very large and interesting playgrounds.

On the third day, the family went to the Universal Studios Park. The price for three people was about 150 euros. “Maybe I was a little disappointed, a lot of things were closed and for children of this age – only a few attractions. So if you compare it with Disneyland, then Universal park is definitely worse. But there are many other entertainments and a beach on that island, so you will find activities,” adds Rasa.We recommend buying Universal studio park tickets in advance.

In the evening, the family went to the botanical park and the Jacob Ballas garden. This soda is highly recommended by the family as it has lots of activities for children.

The last day was reserved For the Science Museum, who also impressed. Rima says that all children will really like it. And the prices are very friendly.

After a short trip, Rima adds that it was a really good and interesting trip. “All the objects are simply breathtaking and worth the money. After Vietnam, it was just a breath of fresh air and civilization,” the family concludes the conversation.

A trip to Singapore with a child is a great destination, because there is a lot of entertainment for children. The city is full of not only paid entertainment, but also free playgrounds, various spaces that are really for the little ones.

Changi International Airport

One of the most visited attractions in Singapore is the Changi International Airport. It is the subject of great architectural progress, incredible botanical exhibits. Probably everyone who is at least somewhat interested in traveling knows this place. Get your ticket and make sure to visit.

Botanical gardens

Located in the center of Singapore, the gardens cover more than 100 hectares. These are water parks, botanical gardens, recreation areas, conservatories. One of the most beautiful gardens in the world, the Singapore Botanic Gardens began to be created in 1859. Due to modernity and biodiversity in 2015 these gardens are included in the list of UNESCO heritage sites as the most modern and most biodiverse.

A park of artificial trees has been created next to the large orangeries. It is probably the most iconic place in Singapore that is featured in travel brochures and is probably easily recognized by every traveller. The height of these complex structures ranges from 25 to 50 m. An educational trail for visitors meanders high between them. We recommend buying tickets in advance.

Marina Bay Sands observation deck in the hotel

If financial opportunities allow, definitely stay at the Marina Bay Sands hotel, which has become a symbol of Singapore. It probably has the most amazing infinity pool in the world. However, if you choose to spend the night elsewhere – for 17 euros, you can go up to the observation deck on the 57th floor of this hotel, from which you can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the city. Sentosa Island

It is an entertainment island. It has the only beaches in Singapore that are suitable for swimming. Also located here is the “Underwater World” oceanarium, which is one of the most modern oceanariums in Asia. You can purchase tickets securely online. Also here you will also find an impressive water park.

This place also has a spectacular theme park Universal Studios Singapore. It was opened in 2010. The park is divided into seven themed zones: Hollywood, New York, Madagascar, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away and Sci-Fi City.

Tiger Sky Tower is the tallest observation tower in Asia. From the observation deck installed at a height of 131 m, you can see great panoramas. It is also located on Sentosa Island.

The most popular and fun way to get to Sentosa Island is by lift. It offers a magnificent panorama of Singapore.
