What to do with children at the biggest summer festival in Lithuania?

Wondering what to do with the kids this summer that’s fun for the whole family? A flower festival will be held at the Pakruojis manor throughout the summer – that’s a great place to spend an unforgettable day full of laughter and fun adventures. Every day until autumn, the festival delights young and old visitors with various activities and activities, including impressive performances, puppet theater performances and new acquaintances with the residents of the manor farm.

So what to do for kids at the biggest summer festival in Lithuania?

Both parents and children can be participants in the performances

One of the highlights of this year’s anniversary summer flower festival is the engaging performances of an international troupe of actors and circus artists. A charismatic clown from Italy, the prankster elf Pak, unexpected flowers or characters from the play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and even Shakespeare himself – take the ferry to a world where fantasy mixes with reality, and the audience is a part of it all.

And that’s not all! Next to the theater, circus tricks are also surprising: the tricks of a fearless tightrope walker are breathtaking in the sky of the mansion, and an acrobat gracefully cuts through the air nearby. You can admire, wonder and even train yourself – such impressions remain for a long time, and sometimes they only happen once in a lifetime.

Seeing the world’s largest bird and riding a camel is real

At the festival, a large group of inhabitants of the manor farm awaits the little ones: horses, sheep, rabbits, chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys. You can not only see them, try to pet them, but also feed them with their favorite treats. Birds of prey from all over the world live in the nearby Falconry Center. Among them are not only eagles, owls and falcons, but also the world’s largest flying bird, the commodore. A skilled trainer also organizes performances right here that capture everyone’s attention, and the birds themselves can be seen very close.

A place that surprises not only small but also big visitors – Love Island. The latter is decorated with huge hand-made dreamcatchers, and hammocks are installed among the trees, where you can relax from the bustle of manor life. The most surprising here are the free-living and scurrying rabbits. Some of them are happy to be petted and fed with crunchy carrots.

Here, it is also necessary to mention probably one of the most exceptional, but no less beloved inhabitants of the manor – the two-humped camel Buchkis. This resident of the estate can carry anyone who wants to on his hump – you don’t even have to go to Egypt!

Become princes and princesses in the Castle of Flowers

The highlight of the children’s play area in the manor is the castle of the kingdom of flowers, which was specially designed by the set designer Marija Rubavičiūtė for the Pakruojs manor. This is the most colorful place for the little ones to play around and feel like real princes and princesses. A beautiful ancient carousel works and delights right next to it – it is a joy for both small and older children.

By the way, it is important to mention that the fair organ was created a few hundred years ago. It was created to replace live musicians who were always playing alongside the spinning carousels. The massive and ornate instrument was often placed in amusement parks near carousels. That means that it found exactly such a place in the mansion. And now, while spending time near the carousel, you can travel back in time. While traveling, you can enjoy the most popular tunes of that era played by the organ that works without human hands.

Dolls are not just for playing

After jumping in the play castle and swinging on the carousel, we invite you to see short but enchanting puppet theater performances. Shows held several times a day combine the magic of puppetry with timeless stories. The revived characters will not only surprise the little ones, but will also become a fantastic introduction to the world of theater.

If you run out of games during the day, see the antique pinball hall. With never-before-seen and even extremely rare exhibits from all over the world, it will surprise not only children, but also their parents.

The “Festival of Art, Flowers and Love” in Pakuojis’s estate takes place all summer until September 10. It involves the whole family in unforgettable entertainment every day.

The Pakruojis manor is not only the largest manor complex in Lithuania, but also one of the 18 most attractive cultural tourism sites in Europe. It is also the Lithuanian “Tourism Object of the Year 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022”. Unique flower and light festivals are held here every year, and 19th century buildings are recreated. 19th and 20th century ave. experiences and moments of manor life are shown.
