Sunny Nights Camping & Homestead

Sunny Nights Camping & Homestead is a hundred-year-old homestead, once a post station (Karaulka), founded in 1910. The station served the horse mail route between Riga and Karaliaučius (now Kaliningrad).

Now guests of the homestead can enjoy an exclusive creative environment, a historic guest house and a wonderful apple orchard suitable for relaxation, celebrations or picnics. In addition, there is a great pond nearby with a sandy beach, a volleyball court and other infrastructure. The bohemian atmosphere created by buildings decorated with hippie and traditional Lithuanian elements, handmade decorations and rustling nature will not let you get bored.

Education, Events, and Workshops

Various music, art, culture, family and leisure festivals take place in the Sunny Nights homestead during the warm season. Annual Rasa and Herb festivals are celebrated here, concerts are held, and Natural Arts workshops are organized. Private workshops are held by prior arrangement and reservation of the date. Minimum group size – 8 people, maximum – 13 people.

We offer a Nature Arts Workshop:

• Linen Carvings: Carving, printing, creating postcards or other accents. For adults and older children. 3-4 hours for 15 euros/person.
• Extraction of nettle fiber/production of decorative cords and their practical use. Only during June – October. For adults and older children. 3-4 hours for 15 euros/person.
• Weaving of jewelry grass baskets. For adults and older children. 2-3 hours for 15 euros/person.
• Seed mandalas are a meditative activity. Suitable for both adults and children of all ages. 30 minutes – 1 hour for 5 euros/person
• Solar print (cyanotype) on paper and textile. For adults and older children. 2 hours for 10 euros/person.
• Paper production from grasses. For adults and older children. 3-4 hours for 15 eur/person
• Paper recycling and decoration with plants growing in the homestead. For adults and older children. 2 hours for 10 euros/person.

One can order snacks or meals during all workshops. We also treat all participants with tea, apples and other goodies from our homestead.

Various children’s camps, organizational trainings and educations take place in the territory every season. We strive to maintain a welcoming, green and clean environment in the area and will do our best to make your stay here relaxing and memorable.

Camping Site – Camping

The campsite and homestead are located close to one of the most popular travel routes in the Baltic States. Here you will find various attractions that you can reach on foot, by bicycle or by other means of transport. Kryžių kalnas, Mūša Tyrelis bog, Joniškis city synagogues, Žagarė old town and other lesser-known places, which we will gladly tell you about, are visited by a lot of tourists.

At the campsite, you will find a modernly equipped administration building where camping guests can use the kitchen, common areas, library, Wi-Fi connection and other amenities. There are also showers and toilets in the campsite. The garden and parking lot are equipped with electrical connections, tables, swings for children, recreation and play areas. There are common sewage disposal facilities, water stations. The campsite is pet friendly. The farmhouse has several private rooms, family rooms and shared rooms. We have bicycles available for rent (advance reservation required).

A Welcoming Homestead for Everyone

From 2019 we became an albergue for pilgrims traveling the Camino Lithuanian route.

For those who like challenges, we invite you to join the Sunny Nights community. The homestead welcomes volunteers who want to learn various crafts, gain skills and life experience, contribute to the creation of an organic homestead environment, food growing and processing. This is a great opportunity for those who want to escape from the city to the countryside and to test themselves.

Families with children are also welcome.
