Over the years of travelling, we have built up a list of places we visit every time the weather warms up. But this year, we’ve also had many discoveries. Travelling with Children in Lithuania: Recommendations – here are the places we’ve discovered and the places we’ve loved for a long time, and you still have time to visit them this year!

Travelling with Children in Lithuania: Recommendations

When travelling, we regularly share tips, experiences and recommendations. On our website you will find detailed information about animal farms and parks, amusement and entertainment parks, playgrounds, places to celebrate birthdays and city guides. And in this article “Travelling with Children in Lithuania: Recommendations”, you will find all our favourite places in one place, sometimes even better than visited abroad. So pick your favourite and go discover Lithuania!

Harmony park

“Harmony Park” is the largest holiday complex in Lithuania, covering an area of more than 220 hectares. Here your family will find a spectacular SPA, swimming pools, entertainment, horse riding, playgrounds and endless delicious food.

Harmony Park’s family fun is tailored for the very young to the older children and the whole family. On site you’ll find a beach, paddle boards, pedalos, electric scooters and electric tricycles. Even the little ones will be delighted by the hotel’s little electric car.

The facilities at the stud farm are impressive, from the indoor arena and open fields to the highly competent trainers and excellent horses. Most importantly, Harmony Park is fun for everyone – you don’t have to stay overnight. You can just stay for half a day and have fun.

Restaurant “Simboly” and “Samana” gastro pub are also located on the premises and deserve exceptional compliments. There is also a free basketball court and a perfect children’s playground nearby.

We came here for an overnight stay, will we be back? Definitely yes. Can we recommend it to you – 100%.

We share our detailed impressions of this place in the article “Harmony Park with Children”.

Ilzenbergas Manor

Ilzenbergas Manor is our discovery this summer. We spent the whole day there and even stayed overnight because it was so much fun and interesting. Ilzenbergas Manor is more than just a manor house. It’s like a world of its own – a home for history, education, games, farming, nature and events.

The centuries-old manor park has been preserved and beautified, where you can also enjoy the park’s artistic sculptures, the newlyweds’ favourite Love Island and the bridge leading to it. Ilzenbergas Manor is the only manor house in the Baltic States to have been reborn and farmed according to the principles of natural farming. The manor produces a wide range of natural, highly tasty and healthy foodstuffs from certified raw materials in the old tradition. You can also visit the farm animals.

Ilzenbergas Manor has perhaps the most interesting and varied playground in Lithuania! Next to the playground there is also a corn maze, a very fun educational activity for the whole family. If you like water activities, you can take a ride on the new eKatamaran at the pier of Lake Illis Lake. We visited the manor with the whole family and enjoyed it immensely. We were impressed with everything – the estate itself, the surrounding, the activities, the food. The day did not take us long at all.

Barefoot through Juniper

A new and exclusive space has opened in the village of Arlaviskes, Kaunas district. It is an open-air leisure space near the Juniper Valley with a terrace of snack bar, an 800-metre long eco-barefoot trail and pets. Here you will meet the lovely inhabitants – friendly goats and screeching rabbits that can be petted and fed. After a walk and a chat with the animals, you can enjoy a snack in the refreshment room.

Barefoot through Juniper is a great place to come with the whole family and spend time in nature. And for the youngest children under two years old, it’s free.

We share a video overview of this place on the Travel with Children Facebook account.

Mountain of Fun

Have you ever heard of Birstonas, Lithuania’s most impressive and longest summer toboggan track? Pramogų kalnas (eng. Mountain of Fun) is a 600 metre long track at a hight of 10 metres with extreme rings of turns. You can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h on this toboggan! Believe me – the feeling is indescribable!

But summer toboggans are only one part of Mountain of Fun. There are two 80 metre tyre slides. We’ve tried many tyre slides in Lithuania and we’d say this is the most spectacular.

There is also a very fun and unique net maze and a net pool with balls for the little ones like our Paula. For hungry visitors, there’s a delicious ice cream and cafe, and there’s even more to do. A driving school for kids, a mini excavator, a virtual reality attraction and slot machines!

It’s a very fun and interesting place – it’s called the MOUNTAIN OF FUN for this reason! From now on, Birštonas is not just a SPA town for us, it’s a place where we’ll come back with our children in the summer to have fun.

If you want to visit together, check out our video review on the Travel with Children Instagram account.

Mickunai Riding Club

Mickunai Riding Club “KEMK” is a wonderful stud and riding club near Vilnius! It offers riding lessons, camps and anyone who wants to come with their children to ride and get to know the horses. My family and I recently visited the stud recently and we were simply amazed by the atmosphere created by the owners and the opportunity to interact directly with the wonderful animals.

It is a great place for both beginners and advanced riders who want to improve their horsemanship. Lina, the owner, is a wonderful woman. She really feels that the stud is not just her job, but her hobby. If you have ever wanted to visit a stud farm with your children, we highly recommend the Mickunai Riding Club “KEMK”.

Fallow Deer Park

The Fallow Deer Park is a unique place in Lithuania where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature, peace and the wonderful company of the Fallow Deer. It is a place for a peaceful family holiday, where you can have a picnic, read a book or celebrate a holiday.

Very accessible by train and car, a family-friendly park just 13 minutes from the centre of Kaunas.

In this large park you will see roaming freely spotted deers and roe deer-like animals – fallow deers. These are quite rare animals, so it’s unlikely that you’ll see such horned beauties while walking in the forest. In addition to the fallow deer, the park is also home to very cute rabbits and fluffy-tailed squirrels.

Here, you and your children can enjoy a relaxing time with sausages or marshmallows at the free picnic areas, where you will find barbecues, grills, skewers, firewood and water. Don’t forget to bring carrots, apples, lettuce and nuts for your family snacks, which will be happily eaten out of hand by park residents.

More about the Fallow Deer Park.

Dargaiciai Zoo

This is one of the largest zoo parks in northern Lithuania and the Baltics, which accepts individual visitors and excursions. The zoo is exceptionally well-kept, the animals are well cared for and there is plenty of space. The history of Dargaiciai Zoo started with raising alpacas. The farm is currently home to 50 different species of animals: alpacas, lamas, camels, chinchillas, REX rabbits, donkeys, Ouessant sheep, Dutch mini goats, the world’s smallest Falabella horse, African ostriches, Jacob’s sheep, Coburg sheep, a Highland cow, an Arabian horse, and a blacknose sheep.

The animals can be fed, petted and photographed together under their owners’ supervision. Children can ride the friendly ponies. The zoo has a large car park, coffee and snacks and rest areas.

Klaipeda Swimming Pool

If you’re staying in Klaipeda on your seaside holiday and your children are upset that they won’t be able to try on their new swimsuits because of the bad weather, the Klaipeda Swimming Pool is a great place to visit.

It’s always very important to us that a pool or SPA complex is suitable for children. That’s why we like the Klaipeda Swimming Pool so much. It’s a very cool pool for little ones, with a depth of just 40 cm and a water temperature of +36°C. So it’s perfect for even the smallest babies.

And for older children and teenagers, we predict that they will most enjoy the water challenge trail, where they can try to overcome floating obstacles and race against their peers.

We share our impressions of the pool in the article Klaipeda Swimming Pool with Family.

Safari Park

Safari Park is a unique and the only such place in Lithuania! It is abusiness of a wonderful family, who give their hearts to it, which is why the park is well-kept, very tidy and endlessly interesting for both children and adults.

The 50 hectares of hills, forests and wetlands are home to more than 200 animals, including zebras, fallow deers, black African ostriches, Highland hornbills, lamas, alpacas, moufflons, donkeys, Welsh ponies, camels, buffaloes. You can see the animals so close and without any pens, as if they were in the wild. You can drive the Safari Park’s SUV yourself or take a guided tour of the park. But the atmosphere is just wow! Our kids really loved it.

You can win a trip and delicious AHA prizes when you visit – more about it on our Instagram account Travel with Children.

Transparent Boats in Plateliai

Transparent boats in Plateli with children are our discovery of this summer and we would like to recommend them to you. It’s a completely unique experience that you can try even with the smallest children. It’s really hard to compare with anything else.

This activity is gaining popularity in Lithuania, and you can try out transparent boats in different lakes in Lithuania, but the water in Plateliai lake is one of the clearest in Lithuania, and you can also visit the islands when you are boating in Plateliai lake.

Transparent boats can be used during the day, but also at night, when the boats glow and make the experience even more unique. In addition, the organisers also give you two lamps that shine 3 to 6 metres down into the water, so the views are simply breathtaking.

For more information about this place, see the article Transparent Boats in Plateliai with Kids and on our Instagram.

Pramogenai

Children’s entertainment space PRAMOGENAI and Elf’s Land is a children’s entertainment place in Zibininkai, in the entertainment complex HBH Palanga. It is a large, two floors play area for children of all ages.

First of all, it’s a paradise of balls – we’ve probably never seen so many of them anywhere. There are various ball pools, tunnels, machines that blow balls into the air, and ball shooting ranges. There are also various staircases and landings, a virtual games area, mazes where you can play hide and seek.

And there are activities for the little ones – mini slides, squeeze cars, soft construction parts, balance toys. As in many play areas, you can celebrate birthdays, graduations and other children’s parties here.

When the weather is bad, you can buy an all-day ticket and go for a meal or a nap after playing, and come back for more entertainment in the evening. The cost is really low and there is no extra charge for parents accompanying their children.

Want more information? Read the article Pramogenai – Children’s Leisure Space in Palanga and watch the video on our Instagram account Travel with Children.

Jungle Monkeyz Adventure Golf

A new and unique place in Kaunas with children and the whole family – Jungle Monkeyz Adventure Golf. It is a kid-friendly cafe and mini golf experience.

When you arrive to Jungle Monkeyz Adventure Golf, you can sit down in the cafe or go straight to play mini golf. The food in the cafe is really tasty and we liked the cocktails the best. The coolest thing is that the cafe also has a second floor where you can watch the kids playing and have a quiet meal.

Before you start playing, you get a briefing from the staff and watch a video. Of course, you choose whether you want to play 9-hole or 18-hole mini-golf. Try out the clubs. Then you each get a different coloured ball, a scoring sheet and off you go to the golf course.

Each track is unique – lots of turns, obstacles and unexpected angles. Believe me, it’s a lot of fun, our whole family enjoyed it and we’ll definitely do it again.

For more about this place, see the article New Entertainment in Kaunas: Mini Golf and our video review on Instagram.

Upside Down House in Palanga

If you are visiting or staying in Palanga, you can visit one of the few upside down houses in Lithuania. This house, which will make you ponder the laws of physics, is located in a very convenient location – at the beginning of Basanavičius Street, so you won’t have to travel far to get there. If you want to take a walk on the ceiling and take some fun family photos, come to this new upside down house in Palanga, which opened just a month ago.

More information about this place.

Splatter studio

Splatter studio is a fine art painting studio that recently opened its doors in Vilnius. Splatter studio offers a unique environment where everyone is free to try different painting techniques and have fun.

You arrive at Splatter studio in Vilnius, get protective clothing, shoes, gloves and choose your paints. Then the studio owner tells you about the available techniques and off you go. You get a white canvas and splash, drip, grey, spray, blow up the paint balloon! Let out your emotions, your mood, your anger. All the paint goes on the canvas, which becomes a unique painting. After the paint has been splattered, you can merge the painting and decorate it with dots. And that’s it – a few days later, the painting you’ve created on the canvas will go to your home.

We not only had a great time, but we also took home three beautiful and unique paintings that will beautify our home.

We’ve made an attractive video about this place, which you can find on our Instagram.

OzkaMale Farm

OzkaMale (eng. goat) – a new, natural goat farm has recently opened in Kupriai. In addition to a bunch of playful, curious and very friendly goats, there are also alpacas and rabbits – all these gentle animals can be petted and fed, you can spend some quiet time with your family in the green meadows of the farm, or you can take part in a fun educational session during which you will be taught how to milk the baby goat by the owner, and then you will be able to taste her fresh milk. There is also a dairy shop with cheese, milk, yoghurt and kefir. Make sure to arrange a visit with the owner of the OzkaMale farm before you arrive.

The farm also has a children’s playground, an inflatable trampoline and a gazebo. Private parties, children’s birthdays, etc. can be organised here. We visited and took some very nice family photos, and the children loved interacting and petting the animals.

More about the OzkaMale Farm.

Grybai Manor Stables

The Gryba Manor Stables is a cosy, visitor-friendly celebration space where you can meet, pet and ride horses and ponies. Other animals kept at Grybai Manor Stables are sheep, goats, birds, cats and a dog. Although the owners mainly welcome visitors on special occasions, to celebrate birthdays, weddings and other anniversaries, on open days you can come with your family to meet and take photos with the animals and try the delicious pancakes or other delicacies. There are also educational activities for children to learn more about the horses, pet them and feed them.

For more information about the farm, see the article Birthdays at the Grybai Manor Stables.

Places We Visit Every Summer

Dainuva Adventure Valley

The Dainuva Adventure Valley is a climbing park where you will experience thrills and spicy sensations as you go from tree to tree, over easy and difficult routes!

Every visitor, no matter what their age or fitness level, will find a route or activity to suit them. The park has 6 routes of varying difficulty, which will take you up to a height of 13 metres. For our youngest visitors, there are even three “Toddler Tracks”, where children aged 6-11 can try their hand at it. Not only that, but there is also the “Fly over the Sventoji River with a Rope” with a total length of over 300 metres.

More about the park.

Palanga Summer Park

Palanga Summer Park is the largest trampoline park in Lithuania, located in the very heart of Palanga, next to the “Melt in Palanga” hotel.

The complex has a huge trampoline park, with basketball hoops and trampolines that can lift a person up to a height of 6 metres.

There are activities for both children and adults. While the kids are having fun on the trampolines, on the Ninja Warrior obstacle course or on the three-storey playground, parents can sit back on the sofas and surf the internet or try mini-golf. For the more extreme adventurers, there is a rope trail in the trees, which is probably the closest to the sea in Lithuania. You can also swing on the carousel or race on the Italian car track.

There are plenty of cafes, relaxation areas and a massage parlour, so you won’t be bored. Entrance to the park is free, only the attractions are chargeable.

Grand SPA Lietuva Aquapark

The Grand SPA Lietuva Aquapark is really great. We like it very much for many reasons. For us, a very big advantage is that if you stay in any of the Grand SPA Lietuva hotels, you can visit the water park without any limits.

Although the water park is not new, it is very neat and well maintained. And the biggest advantage is that the environment of such a large water park is very warm and the water is really warm not only in the children’s pools. So you can comfortably visit with babies or younger children.

The water park has steam, outdoor, infrared, Finnish, Hammam saunas, as well as an ice room. In summer, there is an outdoor seating area. There is also a quiet lounge area where we were able to put our toddler to sleep for lunch. There is also a snack bar. Indeed, the water park is ideal for families.

By the way, the Grand SPA Lietuva Water Park is not only for hotel guests, but also for non-hotel guests.

For more information about the complex, hotels, SPA and entertainment, see Grand SPA Lietuva with Children.

Margas Ponis Farm

Margas Ponis Farm (eng. Spotty Pony) – first of all it is a picturesque environment with lots of animals and excellent, interesting, beautifully adapted infrastructure of a modern village. And the second reason is the owners themselves! So warm and friendly that you feel you have known them all your life. It is immediately clear that people are living their dream here and enjoying it every day because, despite the many hard jobs on the farm, they are always developing, improving, coming up with creative and fun innovations.

When you visit “Margas Ponis” you will be surprised how much there is here – 6 horses, 4 ponies, farm poultry of all breeds, small goats and rabbits of indescribable affection. They all have names and they are all part of a big, close family.

Read about the farm: Margas Ponis – a Place with Animals.

Raubonys Amusement Park

Did you know that Raubonys Amusement Park in Pasvalys district is more than just an amusement park! It’s a whole town of attractions, a trampoline park, animals, climbing frames and entertainment that will not only appeal to children, but will be perfect for toddlers and parents too!

This year, the renewed, even bigger and more impressive Raubonys Amusement Park opened with a bang. In the huge Dinosaur Park, you will find 40 different magnificent dinosaurs that roamed the earth in ancient times, and in addition to them, there will be a modern cinema that you can watch with VR glasses. For the strong lovers of challenges and climbing, you can try your luck on the other area of the park – the Tarzan Trail. And the biggest area of the Raubonys Amusement Park is the amusement park.

There is also a huge pet area where you can see birds, suricatas, rabbits, sheep, goats, ferrets and many other cute animals.

Want to visit this park together? Watch our video review on Instagram. Or read our article “A must-visit amusement park in Lithuania”.

Labyrinth Park

This is the only labyrinth park not only in Lithuania but also in the Baltic States! Here children and adults develop their senses, orientation skills and emotional intelligence by walking through a variety of labyrinth. After all to find the way out you need to concentrate, think of a strategy, remember the paths you have taken, and when you reach a dead end, you have to keep looking until you reach the goal. All 9 labyrinths in the park have different levels of difficulty, so some of them will be a challenge for parents too.

The Labyrinth Park is the largest in Lithuania, so there are plenty of other fun activities besides labyrinths. We liked the mini golf, the fish feeding area, the tyre slide and the curved mirror room the best.

All of these attractions are included in the ticket price, so you won’t have to pay extra and you can spend the whole day looking for your favourite areas and attractions and find them again and again and again.

Check out our video review of this place on Instagram, as well as our article “Labyrinth Park with Children”.

Plane Spotting Deck

Some of the free places of interest for children in Lithuania are truly unique. The only place in Lithuania where you can observe planes so close. Plane spotting deck – it’s a really entertaining and interesting place for both the youngest and older children. But did you know that there is also a very fun playground nearby?

It’s the most fun when there are lots of planes taking off or landing. We recommend you visit the Vilnius Airport website. It shows real-time flights of passenger planes. And we also recommend the Flightradar page. It shows not only passenger flights, but also cargo and technical flights.

See how this place looks like by visiting Travelling with children on Instagram.

Pakruojis Manor

Pakruojis Manor is the best manor house in Lithuania to visit with children. It hosts several festivals throughout the year, has permanent interesting exhibitions, and a wide range of entertainment and education for children. There is plenty to eat and play with your children.

We definitely recommend you to plan enough time for a visit. For us 4 hours, including an hour for lunch, was not enough. Because the park is large and there are a lot of very interesting performances, exhibitions and expositions.

The Festival of Flowers, Art and Love at Pakruojis Manor is now in its fifth year, and even though it is not our first visit, it still surprises us every year. The Pakruojis Manor can be described as the most beautiful place in Lithuania during the festivals. Walking among the many flower arrangements, it is hard to understand how such beauty can be created and, once created, so carefully tended to and nurtured.

It so difficult to describe shortly how many activities you can find here – see the separate article about it “Pakruojis Manor with Kids”.

Gardens of Babylon

Gardens of Babylon is a miniature and botanical park where you can introduce to your children the wonders of the world, stroll through the meticulously landscaped park and visit the 3 million tulips and flowers that bloom here.

The 4 hectares of landscaped grounds are home to miniature versions of some of the world’s most famous architectural structures. It’s great to see that each miniature is labelled with the country in which the original was built and what makes it special. There is also a brief history, so it is really interesting to read. In total, you will discover 21 of the world’s most famous architectural structures in the Gardens of Babylon. All of them are spread over a spacious 4 hectares.

It’s great that there’s also a great playground and a trampoline for children. It is very comfortable to watch the children playing on the terrace of the cafe. By the way, admission to the park is FREE for children under 5!

To find out more about this place, read the article “Babylon Gardens – Miniatures and Botanical Park” or watch the video review on the Travelling with Children Instagram.

Varnikai Cognitive Trail

The Varnikai Cognitive Trail is a great choice for those who want to go for a walk with their child and spend some time in nature. Most of the trail is a forest path and the rest is a new wooden construction, through a swamp, so it is really pleasant and comfortable to walk. This 5 km long nature trail is easy to follow for nature lovers and is circular, so you will return almost exactly where you left your car. It is easy to navigate with a stroller or balance bike.

This nature Varnikai Cognitive Trail is located in the Varnikai Botanical and Zoological Reserve, and you can see a huge variety of flora and fauna, from young trees to oaks, lichens, mushrooms, small lakes, a marsh, birds and insects.

We hope to visit more of Lithuania’s nature trails in the future, and we will be sure to share them in future articles such as this one – “Travelling with children in Lithuania: recommendations”.

Visit this place virtually by watching our video overview.

Upside Down House in Druskininkai

The upside down house in Druskininkai is located in the very centre of Druskininkai in Vilnius Avenue.

The upside down house Druskininkai is an unforgettable attraction for both big and small! You can walk on the ceiling when you visit – just kidding. You won’t have to walk on the ceiling, but you will be able to see things above your head and take lots of original photos. Show your children how to take fun photos – take a picture and turn it over. The kids will really enjoy it.

Children’s playground “Children’s Park”

If you’re travelling with little ones, you simply must visit this park. Located at the intersection of Naglis Avenue and Šermukšniai Street in Palanga the children’s playground “Children’s Park” offers free entertainment for the little ones, including colourful sea-themed play equipment up to 7 metres hight, a variety of merry-go-rounds, swings and other equipment for children of all ages. The area is fenced, with video surveillance and lit. Perfect for a quiet time with the children when it’s windy or cold by the sea.

Nemencine Velo Track and Playground

One of our son’s favourite playgrounds near Vilnius, where we often come to ride our scooter on a huge asphalt track (pumptrack) for bikes, skateboards, scooters and rollerblades. This leisure space also has a soft play area with lots of swings, steps and slides for young and old. There is also a basketball court, volleyball court and mini football pitch. This was one of the first playgrounds we thought of when we wrote the article “Travelling with children in Lithuania: recommendations”.

You can also find a review of this place on our Instagram account.

Sarkos Park

Sarkos park (eng. magpie) is a place for picnics, parties and outdoor entertaining.

Here you will find 60 ancient European games, a gallows, a trampoline and a fairy-tale forest. Young visitors will find a separate play area. You’ll be entertained for hours, so pack a picnic or bake some treats on site. Ice cream and coffee are available in the park.

Sarkos Park offers extraordinary educational activities on Christmas traditions from around the world, on ancient Lithuanian witches and on fairies from Celtic mythology.

Read more about this place in the article Kids Graduation Spot Sarkos (Magpie) Park.

Dino Park

Dino Park is the first and largest dinosaur park not only in Lithuania, but also in the Baltic States! Located in the village of Radailiai, near Klaipėda, this park is for the whole family, both big and small. Visiting it at least once a year has become a family tradition.

It is great for children who are interested in the ancient inhabitants of the earth, the dinosaurs, which are so widely studied by scientists. Because these giant inhabitants of the park are life-size, moving and making sounds, a walk in the park takes you to a magical world where you will find out what life would have been like for humans if dinosaurs hadn’t disappeared. It offers fun and engaging education about nature, dinosaurs and their fossils. There are also nearly 30 different attractions, spaces and rides. These include water activities and sports fields, as well as various carousels. Many of them are suitable for the little ones.

Most importantly, ALL attractions are included in the ticket price and there is no limit to the time you can visit, so you can spend all day here!

Read more about the park in the article “Dino Park with Children”.
