The biggest entertainment park in Latvia

AB park is the biggest entertainment park in Latvia and Baltic States. If you haven’t been here yet, be sure to add this amusement park to your summer plans. Agne, one of the co-founders of “Travel 4 kids”, and her family have returned here for the second year in a row. The park is really amazing – our whole family loves it because there are lots of rides, water activities and activities for kids from toddlers like our Paule to parents.

The biggest entertainment park in Latvia

The biggest entertainment park in Latvia, AB park, is an amusement park called Avarijas Brigade (named after a famous cartoon in Latvia). This park is a fantastic amusement park for the whole family. Although we love amusement parks in Lithuania, we miss the adult entertainment. What makes AB Park special, in our opinion, is that all members of the family will find something to do here, from toddlers like Paula to their parents. And most importantly, parents will not only have fun with their children, but will find plenty of entertainment for themselves.

AB park in Latvia is located 60 km east of Riga on a 28 hectares site. The area is very large indeed, but well maintained and tidy. And most importantly, you can see that the park is growing. This means that when you come, you will find new rides or attractions next year. Although we were here last year, this year there are a lot of new things. There is a new very big ride that is suitable for older children and adults, as well as many new activities.

We really like parks where you buy a ticket and all the attractions are already included, so you don’t have to restrict children who want to swing around or have fun again and again. This is also the case in AB Park – if you buy a day ticket, you can go on all the rides, as much as you want, without limit. You can also buy a full season pass – you pay once and go to the park as many times as you like. If we lived in Latvia or somewhere even closer, we would definitely buy such a ticket, because it’s very worthwhile.

Entertainment in AB Park

A special children’s play area is available for the smallest children. It is based on the cartoon “Avarijas Brigades”. There is also a train ride, a spin on the classic merry-go-round, a special water zone for toddlers and water trampolines for little ones.

For older children, there are many activities ranging from rides, cars, tyre slides, mini-golf, VR and trampolines. In fact, it’s hard to list all the activities you can find in the park.

Water activities

We like AB Park very much because of its water attractions, and it is a great pity that there are no such water attractions in Lithuanian amusement parks. In the warm season, water activities are particularly popular in AB Park. And there’s not just one – there are many for children and adults of all ages. Here you can take the whole family out on water bikes. The little ones can play in the water playground. By the way, Paule had one of the most fun activities. It is a pity that Lithuania does not yet have such fun places for children in the summer, which are such outdoor water activities for children.

Apart from this fun mini-water park with slides and water games near the rides, there is the ERGO Water World at the far end of the park. The pond has water trampolines – all sorts of obstacles, slides, karts – just wow. And what a size they are. And there’s no time limit, so you can have fun all day long. It’s very convenient that there’s an area with changing rooms, benches and umbrellas nearby.

And most importantly, ERGO Water World has a trampoline for the little ones. I’ve never seen such a fun water trampoline where parents can have fun with their youngest children. The whole family was able to have fun here, even our little 1.5-year-old Paula.  These water trampolines are great fun for the whole family! So make sure you bring swimwear and towels for the whole family.

It’s great to see lifeguards everywhere in the park, keeping order, limiting the number of people on the trampolines, making sure everyone is wearing water jackets. It’s also a very big plus that they have life jackets for the smallest children. They have really thought of everything.

Our tips for going to the park

The park has plenty of benches and picnic tables. You can bring food and drinks into the park, there are no restrictions. So, feel free to bring your own lunch and have a picnic. There are also plenty of cafés, so you won’t have any problems buying food and drinks. And the prices are not very high at all. The food is fast-food type, so if it’s suitable for you and your children, you won’t go hungry.

Trolleys are available for hire at the entrance for your belongings and children. Keep in mind that the park is large, so it’s really practical, the kids won’t get tired and it’s convenient. The price is 5 Eur.

The park has to be walked on gravel paths, so it is not very convenient for children with scooters. And if you take a pushchair, make sure it has bigger wheels. Because we had a hard time getting around the park with a mini city scooter.

Make sure you spend a full day in the park, because you won’t even notice how quickly it will pass before you’ve tried and walked around, the park is really big and there are plenty of activities for everyone. We arrived almost from the moment the park opened and finished almost just before the park closed.

It’s very convenient that there are benches with umbrellas everywhere near the rides, where it’s comfortable and not too hot to wait for the kids on the rides, but we highly recommend bringing sun hats and sun cream

Make sure you bring your swimwear and towels. There are plenty of water activities for everyone. For toddlers and parents alike.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online. Annual season tickets are also available.

There is free parking next to the park, which is also staffed, so everything is very tidy and organized.

Is it worth visiting AB Park in Latvia?

A full-day ticket to the amusement park costs 28 Eur. Tickets are required for children aged 2 and over. You may ask if it is worth going and paying so much if there are similar parks in Lithuania that cost less.

Our answer is definitely YES! Because it’s always fun and exciting to try something new. Plus, this park is a fun park for the whole family. In particular, we would like to highlight the water trampolines. If the whole family loves water activities, it’s definitely worth your while. But you can also enjoy the water activities here without any limits. Because an hour on the water trampolines normally costs around 10 Eur, so if you spend an hour or two there, take advantage of the many other attractions, the rides, the mini-golf, the pedal boats, you will find that it is really worthwhile for you. And it’s guaranteed to be fun too!

Last year, we went to Sigulda after the theme park. For us, it was a family holiday in the Gauja National Park.

Also, Riga is very close to the park and has lots of attractions for kids, so you can plan a great weekend with the family – Riga and AB Park! A weekend with kids in Riga is our ready-made weekend guide for you, feel free to use it. And then there’s Ventspils and Daugavpils, which also have plenty of fun for the whole family!
