Wow, that’s impressive – you’ll hear these words a lot when visiting Curiocity in Kaunas with kids! As soon as you step into this unique space, both little ones and adults gasp in amazement and rush forward to explore all the wonders. And in this “city of wonders,” there’s definitely a lot to see, experience, and try!
Curiocity – what kind of place is it?
Curiocity in Kaunas is the only educational entertainment center of its kind in the Baltic States, consisting of 13 different areas that create the impression of an interactive multifunctional city. Located in Kaunas, at the MEGA shopping center, it often attracts young visitors from even the most distant cities in Lithuania.
You can also find more information with the exact Curiocity coordinates on the “Travel 4 kids®” places to visit map.
What we liked the most was how games and educational activities are combined with active entertainment. For example, you learn about food, and then rest your brain by completing a task and walking over lava. You learn about farm work, and then quickly slide down a slide. Curiocity mimics real-life situations, but in a way that allows kids to confidently explore the world through play.
Simply put – here, a child won’t just run, jump, and climb to their heart’s content, but at the same time, they’ll learn a lot of life facts and fun things. And most importantly – they’ll be able to TRY EVERYTHING! What is usually forbidden or restricted elsewhere, here it’s even encouraged! You can crawl everywhere, touch everything, break a little, build a lot, and listen to everything.
The spaces are designed so that as soon as you step in, you discover one after another. Of course, you can also go wherever you want, follow what interests your child, and come back to the places they liked.
Curiocity – 13 unique spaces in one place
Curiocity in Kaunas has 13 unique spaces in one place. Although we’ve visited many playrooms and entertainment centers around the world, we’ve never come across a place like this. No matter what your child is interested in or what they like – at Curiocity in Kaunas, you’ll find spaces for children of all interests.
Baby area
This area has a ball pit, and all the toys are soft and designed for the youngest children, so you can calmly spend time with your baby while the older kids explore the other areas. IMPORTANT for moms with infants. It’s very convenient that right next to the baby area, there’s a bathroom with a changing table, a chair with a feeding pillow, toys near the changing table, and a microwave to heat up food. Perfect for babies!
Sound Discovery Area
Here you can measure the volume of your voice and even record a radio show! And the best part — you can download your recorded show to your email. That’s exactly what we did!
Color Discovery Area
Here you can create masterpieces on a light table and even slide down a rainbow! It’s super fun for kids learning their colors, but even those who already know them will enjoy it. It’s interesting for adults too!
Nature Forces Discovery Area
Here you can generate eco-friendly electricity, play with magnets, and touch a lightning ball.
Human Body Discovery Area
Assemble human bones, clean giant teeth with an enormous toothbrush, and listen to the sounds the human body makes. Motiejus’ grandmother is a dentist, so the dentist’s chair got a lot of attention!
Puzzle Area
Play secret agents and solve riddles, then — just like in the movies — conquer a laser beam obstacle course. There’s also a lie detector and fingerprint samples. Parents will enjoy solving the puzzles too!
Emotions Discovery Area
This is a wonderfully designed space where kids can learn about emotions and find out what to do in tough moments. You can even destroy unpleasant emotions with a special emotion-release machine!
Earth and Space Discovery Area
Here kids can become spaceship pilots and fly around the entire Solar System while completing an important mission.
City Heroes Area
This room is for the bravest kids who aren’t afraid to slide down a pole and rescue a kitten from a burning house. Here, you can not only wear a police officer’s hat but also allocate the state budget and steer a double-decker ship!
Farm Area
A perfect spot for city kids where they can crawl into a beehive, plant vegetables, and even try milking a cow!
Food Exploration Area
A great place to introduce children to healthy eating habits, try preparing a nutritious lunch, and after “fueling up,” tackle an obstacle course over burning lava!
Construction and Design Area
This space is for those who want to build a house, climb scaffolding, dig with an excavator, or create the most incredible structures from giant LEGO blocks.
Culinary Studio
A magical world of culinary wonders where kids can prepare healthy meals and even create food characters! Free workshops take place ONLY ON SATURDAYS.
Curiosity Lab
Here, children can step into the shoes of a scientist and take part in all kinds of exciting experiments! Free educational activities happen ONLY ON SUNDAYS. We were lucky enough to visit on a day when one of these workshops was happening, and it was an absolute wow moment for Motiejus.
What age group is Curiocity for?
Curiocity Kaunas welcomes children from toddlers up to 13 years old. Kids under 3 must be accompanied by an adult, while 4–5-year-olds can explore independently but must wear special vests and wristbands. From age 6, kids can use the space entirely on their own, though they’re also welcome to stay with an adult.
By the way, entrance is FREE for babies under 1 year old, but parents still need to purchase a ticket.
The best space for birthdays
If you’re out of ideas for your child’s birthday, this place is absolutely perfect! Invite your child’s friends, and they can all take part in a special birthday-themed educational activity. Plus, if you’d like, a special character can join the celebration to entertain the kids.
What impressed us most was the incredible variety — you can choose from 20 different themed party ideas! Kids can become firefighters, scientists, chefs, dance stars, or take part in various creative workshops.
For birthdays, Curiocity offers five cozy party rooms where little adventurers can take a break from exploring and enjoy some birthday cake in a calm, comfortable space.
You can also add extra services like professional photography, instant camera rental, room decoration, and face painting.
To make party planning even easier, Curiocity offers a special birthday menu — the food will be ready and waiting in the party room on the big day!
Practical tips for those heading to Curiocity
It’s very convenient that Curiocity Kaunas is located in the MEGA shopping center, so parking will definitely not be an issue. In our opinion, you should set aside at least two hours for your visit, as one hour will not be enough for the kids. The exact address and all visitor information can be found in the list of recommended attractions by “Travel 4 kids®”.
