The biggest water park in Europe, Suntago Water Park is a favourite destination of the family of Agne, one of the co-founders of “Travel 4 kids”. They go here several times a year and are happy to share their recommendations and tips. In this article you’ll find out the best times to go, where to buy tickets, where to stay and all the other important things.
Suntago Water Park, the biggest in Europe
Suntago Water Park, the largest water park in Europe, certainly lives up to its title. It offers fun for everyone from the little ones to adults. You often ask us if it’s worth going to with younger children. Our answer is definitely yes – even the little ones will find something to do at the park.
Our advice and recommendations for planning your visit to Suntago
Buy your tickets in advance, as the queues are double or triple shorter to get into the park if you have already bought tickets. You are also 100% guaranteed to get into the park if you have a ticket. Tickets can be purchased on the park’s website.
As the Polish currency is the zloty, please be aware that your payment may not be immediately scanned when you buy your tickets. But don’t worry, if it happens that your payment is Pending, the ticket office will confirm your payment and you will receive your tickets on the spot.
Ticket prices for smaller children are based on height up to 90 cm, up to 120 cm. Although most of the slides are designed for children from 120 cm upwards, it is up to the person in charge of the slide to decide whether or not to allow a child to go down the slide. Our Motiejus was 115 cm for the first time in the park, but the supervisors allowed him to try some of the activities.
The park is open from 10:00, except on public holidays. The slides are usually open from 13:00, when the crowds start to increase. If you want to enjoy the park when it is less crowded, come from 10:00. On holidays and weekends, the slides are open from the moment the park opens.
It’s best to go on a normal weekday, not a weekend, as there are a lot of people.
We recommend that you dedicate a full day to the park, as there is plenty of activity. A four-hour ticket is definitely not enough, as you won’t be able to try even a small part of the attractions. A two-hour ticket is not even worth considering!
Tips for staying at Suntago Water Park
There is a shop just before you enter the park – in case you sometimes forget your swimming ring, flip flops, shampoo or other bathing equipment.
Food and drinks
Although there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the park, if there are more people, you may have to wait for more than an hour. There is a wide choice of food, from pizzas to Asian food and ice cream. Prices are really friendly. There are a few cafés where adults can also enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail. The prices are not really high, as is often the case in entertainment venues. We recommend you bring drinks or snacks with you – you can have a picnic outside in the summer and inside in the winter. Food and drinks can be freely brought into the park and snacked on throughout the park.
As we travel with the baby everywhere, Ponn’s purees and snacks always go with us. It’s an organic brand that we’ve long loved. The purees are not only healthy, but also tasty and come in super travel-friendly packaging. And the healthy corn snacks appeal even to a six-year-old. The purees are very convenient to eat and are the perfect snack between water activities.
There are three areas, with children only allowed in the Jamango. The other areas are definitely less crowded as many people come to the park with children. Although it is not fair to do so, you can buy one wristband for the adult area and exchange it.
There is a notice board outside the entrance to the slides which shows you how long you have to wait.
Very practical thing – there are towel dryers between the sun loungers under the palm trees.
A trip to Suntago Water Park
The park is located an hour’s drive from Warsaw. 6-7 hours by car from Vilnius. Although there are hostels near the park, the prices are high. We recommend staying in Warsaw and visiting the many fun places to visit in the Polish capital.
More recently, the parking lots at Suntago Water Park have been charged, but there are no other parking options.
If you arrive in Warsaw by train, there are buses that take you from Warsaw to Suntago Water Park.
