TOP Italian restaurants in Tenerife

One of the largest immigrant communities in Tenerife is Italian, so there’s no shortage of authentic cuisine. Oven-baked pizzas, homemade pasta and ravioli, risotto, mozzarella and burrata fresh cheeses, focaccia bread and, of course, ice cream, panacotta and tiramisu. Different restaurants representing different regions of Italy (Venice, Naples, Verona, Sicily, etc.). You will also find Italian restaurants in non-touristy places.

This is a great choice for families with children as all children love pizza and pasta – don’t be afraid to ask for sauce on the side in case they sometimes want to eat without sauce. Italian restaurants are very often staffed by Italians themselves, and the wishes of the customers are very important to them.

Mamma Rosa restaurant in Las Americas

Restaurant Las Americas. Italian cuisine, but really well suited to both meat and fish lovers. Just a few steps away from the bustling street, the restaurant has a cosy, classic interior.

The food is simple but good. We enjoyed the meat dishes – the steak was worth a look, the lamb was also very good. I liked the vegetables for the side dishes. There was a good choice of fresh fish and seafood. We tried fresh oysters.

There is a wine room, with a cosy interior. Service is excellent – the staff speaks excellent English.

The restaurant has a special children’s menu – although our children’s attention this time was more attracted by the dishes on the adults’ menu, the children’s menu is definitely worth a look too.

La Piazzetta restaurant in Los Cristianos

The locals Italians recommend La Piazzetta restaurant in Los Cristianos. You should try the pizzas, pastas and snacks. And the sorbet served for dessert is my favourite dessert.

We love this restaurant, especially when we miss real Italian food and big portions.

Pizzeria Carbone restaurant in Adeje

For us, the best pizzas in the south of the Tenerife island are at Pizzeria Carbone, a pizza-only restaurant that has added a few more dishes to its menu this year.

Try pizzas with truffles, pizzas with burrata cheese and many more with a wide variety of ingredients.

Blanco Mar restaurant in Las Maretas

Italian cuisine and many seafood dishes. A small and different restaurant. If you don’t like different spaces and are looking for a regular restaurant in a touristy area, this is probably not for you.

But we like different places, like in a place not even dedicated to a restaurant, like with different rules, like you have to go to some unknown town.

But what you will find in Las Maretas is a little restaurant overlooking the stormy (and sometimes not) ocean, a wonderful Italian chef, homemade pasta and incredible combinations with seafood!

You won’t get pizza here, but our kids love the chef’s home made spaghetti and fresh tomato sauce.

Important! As the restaurant is located in a small town not frequented by tourists, reservations are required at least 24 hours before your visit.

Figu restaurant Los Abrigos

Recently opened with quality food and a large menu, Figu is located in a little town Los Abrigos. It has a large selection of daily specials. The pizzas are baked in an oven.

We really liked the fact that, for the first time on the island, we were able to eat some rather unusual dishes, such as zucchini flowers in dough or pizza with octopus. Very good risotto.

Restaurante da Maury Arona

A Venetian cuisine that’s not really famous for pizzas – but for its amazing spaghetti, rice dishes and seafood.

Try the black pasta, the seafood pasta and the cod doughnuts.

Reservations are essential – although the restaurant is in a non-touristy area, it is very popular with locals.

Il Pappagallo restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

We also love the Mediterranean and Italian restaurant at Hotel Botanico in Puerto de la Cruz.

The restaurant is located on the lower level of the Hotel Botanico, like a rock. The restaurant serves mainly Italian dishes. We gave it a score of 9 because we liked everything except the pasta, which was not spectacular, but the ravioli with foie gras and truffles was incredible. We also had help with the wine selection – there is a separate person in the restaurant to advise us on the choice of wines.

Our recommendation is to make sure you take a look at the menu of the day as we found some impressive dishes there. We were not disappointed with the cold snack buffet, as this is how we sampled the various snacks in this restaurant – the vitello tonato was very good, and there was a large selection of cheeses.
