Mature skincare while travelling

Children grow up and you start to notice traces of time in the mirror? No need to worry, taking care of your skin at any age really doesn’t have to take a lot of time and effort, especially if you’re active and like to travel a lot. Here are some tips on mature skincare for travelling and more.

Mature skincare while travelling. When does skin become mature?

Generally speaking, mature skin starts to appear after the age of 40, but frequent sunbathing, smoking, stress, poor nutrition and improper care can cause skin to lose its luminosity and firmness even earlier. Biologically, skin ageing starts as early as the age of 25, and it is from then on that we should nourish and look after not only our skin but also our whole body. Mature skincare while travelling is just as important as at home.

Studies show that almost 40% of women aged 25-35 develop wrinkles in the eye area. By the age of 40, wrinkles also appear under the eyes, and after 40, wrinkles also appear around the lips and double chins. Facial oval features are lost at 50 (30%) and 60 (62%).

However, this is a very imprecise and not very accurate guide – every woman’s body and skin is different, and we are affected differently by our environment, lifestyle, stress and diet.

Over time, the skin produces less of certain substances such as peptides, collagen and elastin. These substances are proteins that are naturally present in our skin and ensure the firmness, regeneration and resistance of connective tissue to environmental influences.

Hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the skin, also plays an important role in keeping the skin moist and firm. When our bodies are not able to produce as much of these substances as they used to, we start to see the first signs of ageing.

Mature skincare while travelling – signs, causes, prevention

Signs of mature skin

  • drooping of the upper eyelid;
  • bags under the eyes;
  • visible wrinkles in the nostrils and corners of the lips;
  • pigmented spots;
  • puffy skin and uneven skin tone;
  • wrinkles on the lips, back;
  • thinner, sagging skin;
  • dry skin.

Causes of skin ageing

  • External ageing is mainly caused by ultraviolet rays, allergens, toxic substances, cigarette smoke and improper cosmetics;
  • Premature skin ageing can be inherited genetically;
  • Unhealthy lifestyles are a major contributor to our skin ageing process. If you are stressed, sleep poorly, don’t get enough exercise, eat a lot of fatty foods or sweets, you will notice changes in your skin earlier.
  • The epidermis naturally thins over time, the cells vary in size, the cells shrink due to a lack of fibre, elastin and collagen, the capillaries shrink and their walls get thinner.

Skin ageing prevention

  • DIET. The condition of your skin depends on the overall health of your body – make sure you eat a healthy diet, and eat more vegetables and fruit, which are rich in antioxidants and help to maintain proper regeneration processes.
  • WATER. Drink enough fluids to help maintain moisture throughout the body and skin, and ensure proper metabolism.
  • HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. To stop skin ageing, you should avoid smoking and limit alcohol consumption as much as possible.
  • MOVEMENT. Make sure you take at least a short exercise session every day, take the stairs more often, get off one stop earlier and walk as much as possible – it is scientifically proven that the longest-lived people maintain their health and vitality thanks to physical activity.
  • RELAX! Stress is the biggest enemy of beauty. Sit down and do your best to make your everyday life calmer, slower and happier. Take enough time for sleep, rest and make sure you have time for hobbies.
  • SKINCARE. Only use quality products that are suitable for your skin. This can be as little as a couple of products, but most importantly quality products with active ingredients that slow down ageing.

Mature skincare

Whatever your age, the rule is always the same – skin needs to be cleansed, moisturised, protected and pampered. Mature skin needs to be treated in the same way, but you need to make sure you maintain a routine and choose the right active ingredients.

Mature skin care is extremely simple and the earlier you start, the better the results in the mirror. Experts stress the importance of 3 simple steps:

Cleansing

First of all, the face should be thoroughly washed using mild products that do not destroy the skin’s natural oil layer. A mild cleansing milk, cleansing foam or oil would be ideal, but it’s worth looking for AHAs and BHAs, which can help smooth wrinkles and pigment spots. Paper wipes may be an option for drying the face after washing, especially if it is sensitive or problematic.

UV protection

The sun is one of the most damaging environmental factors to the skin. Sunscreens are essential for all skin types, and mature skin is simply unthinkable without them – it tends to be thinner, with a weaker skin barrier. That’s why it’s especially important to use mature skincare while travelling and on a daily basis – to protect it from UV rays – every day, all year round.

Our recommendation: DERMEDIC SUNBRELLA Sunscreen for dry and normal skin, SPF 50+, 50 g

  • Sunscreen (SPF 50+) designed to protect particularly sensitive, dry and normal skin.
  • It is particularly effective for the protection of sensitive and normal skin against all types of negative rays – UV, VL and IR.
  • Stimulates collagen biosynthesis and prevents photo-ageing and thermal ageing.
  • Stimulates the production of enzymes in keratinocytes that help reduce the amount of free radicals produced by visible light.
  • Helps maintain the skin’s optimum moisture level.
  • With thermal water.

The best mature skincare products

There are so many anti-ageing products on the market that it’s hard to choose both the product and the manufacturer. We do, however, have a tried and tested manufacturer that we trust every step of the way and whose products we recommend to you.

We first chose DERMEDIC products for our children’s baths and massages, then we tried the sun care products, and the hair care products have been very successful for us, protecting our hair and scalp from the effects of the sun, the sea and the swimming pools during our holidays. This is especially important if you have a sensitive scalp.

We have also been very fond of the facial care products, especially the serums, which gently nourish even the most sensitive skin, and mature skin too. This is exactly what the DERMEDIC line OILAGE is designed for.

  • The innovative DERMEDIC OILAGE oil formulas reverse the perimenopausal skin ageing process, nourish, regenerate and protect against the harmful effects of polluted air.
  • The OILAGE range visibly improves the skin’s condition and restores parameters characteristic of a youthful appearance, such as density, elasticity, firmness, hydration and smoothness. As a result, wrinkles and unevenness are smoothed out and the oval of the face is considerably lifted.

Why trust DERMEDIC?

  • DERMEDIC is a clinically proven cosmetic product where every ingredient isn’t there by chance.
  • All products are balanced to meet the needs of the most sensitive skin.
  • DERMEDIC has a very wide range of dermo-cosmetics for both adults and children.

  • DERMEDIC products have an excellent price/quality ratio.
