Facial care during travels

Hot days are the key to a fun summer and holidays. Although awareness of the use of sun cosmetics is increasing, we often forget (especially when travelling with children) about the simple daily facial care, especialy during travels.

So what is the best way of doing facial care during travels? What to do to avoid dry, dull and flaky skin when travelling in summer.

Dry, flaky skin, dry lips, acne, redness. Familiar feeling? Unfortunately, this condition of the facial skin occurs not only in the cold season, but even in summer or on holiday in warm countries. It would seem that sunlight, fresh fruit and vegetables, swimming in lakes and seas are all good things.

However, warmer weather is not the only thing that improves the condition of your skin – it also needs good nutrition and proper care.

Facial care during travels – is it worth bringing?

We often pack suitcases full of clothes and throw in a cream (usually the one that takes up the least space and weighs the least). Suitcases are light because cosmetics weigh a lot, and we’re glad we didn’t “load up” with bottles of cosmetics for the trip.

But this is where it’s worth ” loading up” a little – it’s better to ditch one pair of jeans from your suitcase and replace them with the skincare products you use regularly at home, because facial care during travels is really important.

What happens when we don’t spend time on facial care during travels

The skin on the face is very fragile, and it is the first to react to any changes in the body and in the environment. So when you’re in a hot air mass, your face reacts lightning fast. The body tries to cool itself down, you sweat a lot, and at the same time you lose a lot of body fluids and micronutrients.

The skin automatically becomes drier, and if it is not taken care of in time, it starts to flake off, becomes dull, grey, fails to tan well, is more fragile and catches skin infections more easily. This can be exacerbated by salt water, sand, wind and direct sunlight, which can literally ‘dry’ the skin and strip it of its moisture.

Dry skin also contributes to accelerated skin ageing, which is something none of us really wants.

The hotter the heat, the more hydration the body needs from inside and outside.

So how do you take care of your complexion so that it glows and tans beautifully after a holiday?

TOP 5 tips on facial care during travels

2 litres of water

The first rule of beauty, both on holiday and on a daily basis, is to drink plenty of water and other liquids, and try to drink at least 2 litres of fluids. Always have a bottle of water handy. Water helps the body to adapt to changes, improves metabolism, oxygenates the cells and prevents overheating.

Avoid sugary drinks and alcohol on hot days

They block water absorption, retain fluid in the body and you may feel swelling in your face, hands and heavy legs. In addition, sugary drinks and alcohol build up calories and increase thirst.

Use sun cosmetics

It will protect your skin from sunburn, which causes one or even several layers of skin to “die”. In addition, direct sunlight sometimes causes skin diseases – sun cosmetics are the best prevention against skin cancer.

Take allergy medication

If your body reacts to a new exotic food or other aggressive environmental factors, you can quickly stop the allergic reaction and save your skin from rashes and rashes.

Regular use of facial cosmetics is essential

Although we like to be lazy during our holidays, we can’t take a holiday for our health and hygiene. Just as we have to brush our teeth every day morning and evening, we also have to cleanse and moisturise our skin and use a daily face serum. We must not forget moisturising masks and scrubs. If you use grain scrubs, you should use them less often, but if you use enzyme scrubs, you should use them every day, preferably in the evenings to avoid irritating your skin. Make sure you take in your suitcase cosmetics that you use and that are suitable for your face, as you may not find them abroad and your skin may react negatively to new products.

TIP: If space and weight are important to you, transfer your facial care cosmetics into smaller containers. As well as dedicated travel containers for cosmetics, small containers that you don’t need on hand are perfect for this, e.g. you can put your face cream or cleanser in… an old contact lens container, or transfer your body lotion or body butter into an empty face cream container.

Which cosmetics to choose for summer and holidays?

We recommend that you choose moisturising products for summer and holidays, as they will help to absorb water better into your skin cells and prevent it from evaporating when exposed to sun and wind. This is the key to radiant, smooth and glowing skin. Only if used regularly, of course.

Our top pick is the DERMEDIC HYDRAIN3 cosmetic range, designed specifically for maximum skin hydration. It all started when we first started using DERMEDIC SUNBRELLA sun cosmetics, which had an excellent quality/price ratio. And it was perfect for the sensitive skin of children. After gaining confidence in this product, we decided to try the face care products as well – we were not disappointed!

As we travel a lot and like to spend winter somewhere warmer, our skin goes through a lot of shocks. Cold, air conditioning, heat, wind, sea water, new food. However, since we’ve been using DERMEDIC HYDRAIN3 facial care products, our skin miraculously withstands these extreme challenges.

The main active ingredient: hyaluronic acid – maintains the skin’s proper hydration level. It strengthens the skin and helps it to stay in perfect condition. Cosmetics with hyaluronic acid deeply moisturise, slow down the ageing process, and help skin tissues regain elasticity.

Dermedic’s HYDRAIN3 line is designed to moisturise dehydrated or dry skin.

Whether in our daily routine or on holiday and travel, we always need 5 products to ensure a healthy complexion. We use them regularly and want to share our skincare routine with you, both at home and on holiday.

Steps to ensure glowing skin

1. Make-up removal

It is important to remove all the make-up, make-up residue and grime that has accumulated on your face during the day so that other products can reach the deeper layers of your skin. If you have used a lot of make-up during the day, then your make-up cleansing routine is micellar water, cleanser, exfoliator and micellar water again. If we used less make-up that day, which is usually the case on holiday, then the make-up cleansing routine is cleanser, exfoliator and micellar water. For make-up removal we use DERMEDIC HYDRAIN3 HIALURO Micellar Water (500 ml).

  • Active ingredients: thermal water, hyaluronic acid, Hydroveg VV, glycerine, allantoin, carbamide.
  • Removes make-up and all dirt, leaving a fresh and clean feeling.
  • It softens and maintains the hydration of the stratum corneum.
  • It does not clog pores or leave a film on the skin.
  • Does not irritate the eyes.
  • Ophthalmologically tested.
  • Hypoallergenic.

2. Skin cleansing

In this step, we use DERMEDIC HYDRAIN3 HIALURO Gel Cleanser (200 ml).

  • Active ingredients: AqualareTM complex (thermal water + hyaluronic acid in 4 forms + glycosaminoglycans + trehalose), macadamia bio-oil, seaweed, glycerine.
  • Removes make-up residues and all impurities.
  • SLS and SLES free – does not cause irritation and does not affect the skin’s natural hydrolipidic layer.
  • Suitable even for people who are intolerant to conventional cleansers.
  • Hypoallergenic.

3. Skin exfoliation

We do this once a day, in the evening. We use DERMEDIC HYDRAIN3 enzymatic exfoliator (50 g).

  • It is non-irritating and non-drying.
  • Contains thermal spring water, complex AHA fruit acids and L arginine 6% .
  • Hyaluronic acid, urea, glycerine and allantoin optimise hydration, soothe and retain moisture in the skin.
  • The scrub gently removes dead epidermal cells.

4. Serum

Although we’ve only recently become aware of serums, once we started using this product, we realised that it’s absolutely indispensable for intensive skin revitalisation and skin health. This is a TOP item during the holidays when dehydrated skin is crying out for help. The most incredible is the DERMEDIC HYDRAIN3 HIALURO Moisturising Face, Neck and Décolletage Serum (30 ml), which simply works wonders and comes in a very small volume. The serum should always be used before applying a cream. The serum penetrates the deeper layers of the skin, while the cream “locks in” the serum and moisturises the top layer.

  • Contains the patented Aqualare™ Complex 15%, which contains 4 molecular weights of haliuronic acid and thermal spring water.
  • Almond oil nourishes the complexion and ensures elasticity, vitamin E is an antioxidant that stimulates collagen synthesis, vegetable squalane softens and soothes, glycerin strengthens the lipid barrier and prevents transepidermal water loss.
  • Clinically proven to be effective, it provides 57% more hydration after 15 minutes. The clinical study involved 30 subjects aged 30-35, under the supervision of dermatologists.

5. Cream

After all the cleansers and serums, we apply a face cream. Our choice is DERMEDIC HYDRAIN3 HIALURO Intensive Moisturising Cream with SPF 15 protection (50 ml).

  • A deeply moisturising face cream for dry and dehydrated skin with medium sun protection (SPF 15).
  • This cream not only intensively moisturises and nourishes, but also soothes sensitive and dry skin.
  • This unique, patent-pending Aqualare complex consists of 4 forms of hyaluronic acid, which penetrate the various layers of the skin, restoring the skin’s water balance and preserving it in the long term.
  • It stimulates the skin’s natural ability to retain moisture and reduces transepidermal water loss.
  • Helps protect the skin from harmful environmental factors, including the full spectrum of solar radiation, pollution and free radicals.
  • Helps to restore skin firmness and smoothness.
  • Does not clog pores.
  • Does not leave an oily layer.
  • Ideal as a make-up base.
