BIOCOS is the first Lithuanian natural cosmetics brand in Lithuania, founded in 2009. The founders Jolanta Cinaitienė and Dalia Nosevičienė became interested in ecology, natural cosmetics and aromatherapy. They became interested in the creation of cosmetics, recipes and little by little began to expand their cosmetics line. Dalia is currently working mainly with the cosmetics line. Jolanta is expanding the aromatherapy and botanical perfumery line.

The important message that the company tries to convey is to emancipate women through BIOCOS products and communication style. They are trying to show them that femininity does not have to fit into any frames set by society. That’s because beauty can be any kind and being a woman is a miracle in itself.

BIOCOS also aims to create a strong community of women – the BIOCOS academy was created for that purpose. The academy organizes professional training on the topics of perfumery, aromatherapy, and cosmetics production.

In our opinion, every BIOCOS product is carefully thought out, the entire aesthetic part is very minimalist, focused on the content and not on the cover. Natural BIOCOS Cosmetic Products for Children

BIOCOS has a separate line specifically for products that meet the needs of children. Here we will find not only pure essential oils, but also gentle cleansers, creams, emollients, ointments for colds, balm for colds, and oils to reduce teeth pain and anxiety.

However, the main focus is on the healing effects of essential oils. We have mostly heard about the antiseptic properties of tea tree. However, Jolanta, the founder of BIOCOS, warns us. She warns that newborns and babies up to 1 year old should avoid both the tea tree (primrose myrtle), radiant eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils. These oils contain a lot of cooling substances, which negatively affect the still immature respiratory system. They also slow down breathing and can even cause sudden death. For babies, it is safer to use mild rose or marjoram essential oil. The oil must be diluted to 0.25% concentration, but it does help against colds.

Children are also more sensitive to some of the components of essential oils. There are oils that are prohibited for children to use, such as cranberry and cinnamon.

To maintain and strengthen immunity, Jolanta advises steaming at home: lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, pine essential oils. It is important to remember that essential oils are not suitable for drinking! Essential oil is made up of many chemical substances, naturally occurring in nature, which, after entering our body, immediately goes to our internal chemical laboratory – the liver, where they are metabolized: converted into other substances. Taking essential oils internally puts stress on the liver, which can lead to inflammation.

As the holidays approach, many mothers, especially those with young babies or those with allergies, are looking for natural cosmetic products – usually sunscreens and effective mosquito repellents. And although the shelves of both shops and pharmacies are full of sun creams, finding absolutely natural products suitable for babies and sensitive skin is an almost impossible mission, because there are only a few natural alternatives in Lithuania.

That’s why it’s great that BIOCOS saw that need and created natural holiday products that are safe to use even for the smallest ones.

Sun Protective Body Cream with Natural Mineral Filters

100% natural composition, suitable for children and adults.

The cream has very pleasant consistency, spreads and absorbs well, and is practically odorless. I really liked that after application it does not leave a white color on the body and a greasy sticky layer, which is not pleasant if you are e.g. on the beach.

The 100 ml package is ideal for travel, but it’s important to know that this cream is not waterproof, so it needs to be reapplied after every swim. For holidays and if you use it with the whole family, you will need several packages – one will definitely not be enough.

Nose Balm for Runny Noses

This nose balm protects against drying out, rescues when a cold or runny nose hits.

Our nine-year-old Greta, who quite often has a runny nose when flying, says that it bothers her not only because of viruses, but also because of allergies, and complains about sensitive skin. She also states that “the balm is very easy to apply, does not leave an unpleasant oil and smells very, very delicious.”

And I really praise the composition of the balm, because since I myself am interested in aromatherapy, I really understand why the balm is not only gentle and pleasant to apply, but also useful for breathing. Apply the balm before bedtime and you will really help the child. The composition of this balm is especially suitable for a child with a runny nose, but also for an adult:

  • St. John’s wort extract helps dry, reddened skin. Soothes irritation, reduces itching, softens, regenerates the skin. Suitable for sensitive skin prone to allergic reactions. This is very important for us, because practically all of us have sensitive skin.
  • Butter tree oil moisturizes the face and nasal mucosa, and also helps to unblock a stuffy nose.
  • Beeswax creates an invisible film on the skin and thus protects the skin from unwanted environmental effects.
  • Essential oils of rose and marjoram support good respiratory health, and also unclog the nose.

Moisturizing Tinted Lip Oil

This oil will be enjoyed not only by mothers, but also by their daughters because it’s a 100% natural lip oil that softens, nourishes the lips like a lip balm, and adds some color and highlights. The hyaluronic acid in the composition intensively moisturizes the lips and protects them from cracking.

My impressions are the best. This is the perfect lip gloss for vacation and not only. Personally, I very rarely paint, but I try to put gloss on my lips because of dryness. So far, this is one of the best lip glosses I’ve had. And this is a very honest assessment. Natural gloss, moisturizing, non-sticky, beautifully covers the lips without much effort, does not “run away”. The unobtrusive Cotton Candy color is just for me, who doesn’t like bright makeup. So far, one of the best lip glosses I’ve tried. Not to mention the fact that Greta often wants to use her mother’s limited cosmetics.

Natural Deodorant

Deodorant that does not clog pores, does not stop sweating, but eliminates the unpleasant smell of sweat. It is a healthy choice for the body, which allows toxins to be removed from the body, does not trap sweat, but makes it odorless. The deodorant is suitable for the whole family.

Another one of the most relevant cosmetic products for vacations, where it’s hot, and sometimes for those who face unpleasant sweating for other reasons or active activities.

Natural deodorant with potassium alum salt does not clog pores or stop sweating, but eliminates the unpleasant smell of sweat.

I was most interested in the composition of this deodorant, because until now I tried to choose deodorants without strong smells and with the most natural composition.

Potassium alum is a natural mineral salt, protects against unpleasant odor, and also has a negative ion sign, so most importantly, it does not penetrate the body, but remains on the surface of the skin, deodorizing and killing sweat bacteria.

Alum together with farnesol (ginger lemongrass and chamomile extracts) does not clog pores, which means it does not stop sweating, but prevents the growth of bacteria that cause unpleasant odors. I liked this feature a lot because it is very important that natural sweating occurs during sports and vacations, because it is even useful so that the body does not overheat, but you want to keep freshness as long as possible.

This one is suitable for improving emotions and well-being. It is very useful when traveling – both when falling into unexpected situations, and improving the sleep of children and mother in a new place, adapting.

It’s a great alternative to perfume when traveling. A convenient, small package with a capacity of only 10 ml will not take up space, but will calm travel stress. Let’s be honest, traveling with children not only brings good emotions, but also obliges us to think quickly and ahead, and if there are any unexpected situations, it is very important that the family’s stability provider remains as calm as possible.

I applied it to my wrists without even reading the instructions. What was especially important for me, because I have sensitive skin prone to allergies, the skin remained unirritated. It did not turn red.
